The son of God Shiva and Parvathi, Sree Ganapathi is the remover of obstacles, the patron of the arts, and the god of wisdom, prosperity, and good luck. He is also known as Vighneshwara, which means "lord of removing obstacles". In any ritual he is worshipped first. Sree Ganapathi is worshipped and pleased before starting any venture to overcome all the hindrances that may face in due course of its implementation.
